Ritari Breeding

The rank of a foal from a breeding between two Ritari is determined simply by looking between the parents' ranks. There will be an equal chance of getting either of the parents' ranks or any rank that exists between them.

For example:

Platinum x White Gold:
  • 50% Platinum foal

  • 50% White Gold foal

Silver x Steel
  • 25% Silver foal

  • 25% Bronze foal

  • 25% Copper foal

  • 25% Steel foal

It is normal for Knights Errant stallions to go to the broodmare herd for a breeding, to avoid the bonded mares in service having to miss missions while they carry the foal. Each breeding costs 150 Chivalries, and each mare has only one spot at any time; this spot will only be reopened once the foal is born. All foals will be designed by the admins to better simulate a real, uncontrollable birth; basic information for the foal (including gender, rank and appearance) will be provided to you along with the foal's design. For more information and to see the available mares, see the broodmare herd.

For any foal created by any breeding (with a broodmare or a character mare), it must stay as a foal, unable to partake in missions, until it has accumulated 2 Life Points; it may then graduate to adulthood, receive an adult reference and begin to go on missions if it has a bonded partner.

Crossbreeding

Status: CLOSED.

Bred mainly for their colour, Ritari crossbreeds are usually loyal to one owner, but do not have the explicit bonding ability.

Ritari Crosses are very susceptible to receiving patterns from their normal parent. The only real thing visually distinguishing a Ritari Cross is the presence of the metallic streaks in their hair and hooves – the colour of which depends on the rank of their Ritari parent.

Like a normal Ritari, Crosses are born without these streaks, and will only gain them after consuming a certain amount of metal. Ritari Crosses are born with the hard teeth necessary to help them with this task, however as they get older, their teeth soften, making it impossible for them to imbibe metal substances without difficulty.

Some owners have tried feeding their Ritari Crosses liquid metals in order to try and increase the metallic colouring in their Cross, however doing so usually causes an overdose of metal, and will result in the Cross's untimely death.

Ritari Crosses are not recognised by the Knights Errant, and as such the owners of these Crosses will not be roped into joining the organisation.
